The Lightyears - Live at the Cavern Club
Posted by Ruth 30/05/05

Last Saturday (28.05.05) Myself, Dom, Mr Lally's son, Colin, Frank, Jude, Dave and Carrie ventured to the Cavern club to witness Mr Lally's son's mates play. We had been assured by the aforementioned that they were excellent.
To our unmitigated surprise and delight they were in fact truly excellent.

Here's an excerpt from their site which I highly recomment you visit:-

"The Lightyears play thumping piano rock ‘n' roll somewhere between Jerry Lee Lewis and Queen. The band follows in the tradition of the 50s groups whose power came from close vocal harmonies and raw onstage energy, rather than from jacking their Marshall stacks to 11. The LYs' live highlights include gigs at the world-famous Cavern, Marquee and 12 Bar Club (sold-out headline), a tour of the Edinburgh Festival and supporting The Levellers."

To top off their excellent gig, all four of the lads were great and we enjoyed a fair few beers with them afterward - at last proof that southerners can drink.
If you get a chance to go and see them they come highly recommended details can be found at their website - or badger Mr Lally's Son for info.

Dave, Frank and Mr. Lally's Son even went back the following day and assured us they were just as good sober (Not sure if we approve of this sort of behaviour).
