As leader of the Liberal Democrat party, Mr Kennedy achieved an historic result at the 2005 General Election, gaining lots and lots of seats.One of these seats was apparently situated next to the bar in his local pub, and it was this seat upon which he increasingly sat as the pressure of top-level politics all became too much.
While we usually wait for people to die before allowing them entry into the hallowed Honorary Dipsomaniac Hall of Fame, in accordance with the Dipso credo usque ad mortem bibendum, we reckon that as Kennedy's career is pretty much dead that's good enough for us.
What a guy.
