Dipsolympics 2008

In the summer of 2007 NRG challenged Oaf to a drink-off to determine which of them was the greater drinker. The idea for the challenge was to turn it into a boxing match, whereby a round was 1 pint of Carling, and the fight would last for 12 rounds. This idea reignited the long-since dead spark of the Dipsolympics which had previously been envisaged to take the form of a school sports day but with beer added.

A new version of the games began festering in the minds of Dom, Ruth & Oaf, who came up with the resulting day of joviality.

Utilising Oaf's friendship with local pub managers, the games were held on 02 August 2008 in the pool room of the Tower Hotel, Liscard Way, Wallasey.

A general fear of taking part in any of the events kept numbers down, so only two events were contested, as follows:

Drinkathlon

Heavyweight Championship
