(7) Seacombe

The Dipsomania Society once "cased" Seacombe by way of assessing the possibility of staging a Pubcrawl within its borders, that was to finish in the Kings Arms (where the first Pubcrawl had terminated, and therefore we then presumed all subsequent ones would).

This never happened, even though the Dipsomaniacs who performed this visit were generally rather pleased with the establishments and clientele.

The reason it didn't happen was because Seacombe changes a lot when it gets dark. Especially during full moons. The "scally" element to this state is ridiculously high (if you are not sure what "scally" means, click here I'm sure you'll soon recognise them). This makes it unsafe for a bunch of nice people from Liscard, New Brighton & Wallasey Village to get drunk there on a Saturday night (even if we were planning to begin at 11:00 on the Saturday morning). We toyed with the idea for quite some time, but every time we did, somebody got scared just at the thought of it.

The Dipsomania Society does not visit Seacombe's pubs.

PLACES TO GO
If it's still sunny, you have a few hours to kill & you're in Seacombe, you can do worse than a visit to the Bird In Hand, or Sandbank, both of which have the Dipso Dom seal of approval (in the field of pubs in dangerous areas).
