About the Website
The Dipsomania Society got by for many years before this website came along, but it's now become an intregal part of our organisation; allowing us greater control over communication with our members.The main feature we wanted of this site was a log-in area for members-only. This is so we could post upcoming events on our site, happy in the knowledge that only people we know can actually turn up to the correct venues at the correct times. Although we never really expected a coach-load of strangers to arrive on the morning of a pubcrawl, saying that they stumbled across our site & thought it all sounded like fun, it was still a possibility. This site removes that possibility & makes the whole organisation that much more secure.
Any updates to the site can be actioned by Senior Dipsomaniacs only. This is not because we do not value the input of our zounds of members, it is merely to again keep better control over the content. With 80+ members now affiliated with the society things could easily get out of hand if everybody had editing facilities available to them. We do however value the contributions members can make, in terms of pub reviews, Speak Your Brain topics, poll votes & quiz-taking & we would urge any members with any further recommendations to please email us. We will always consider any idea presented to us from one of our members, no matter how silly it is.
